Building Decarbonization. Sustainability Education.

CO2e was founded to help decarbonize the built environment and to provide corporate sustainability education.

The Challenges:

Challenge number 1

Global Warming

The world emits over 50 Billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions every year, which is driving unprecedented global warming.

Challenge number 2

Built Environment

The building sector accounts for 40% of global emissions.

Challenge number 3

No Traction

“After positive beginnings, most sustainability programs get stuck and are unable to scale”. *

Challenge number 4

Greenwashing

“Companies are launching sustainability initiatives at an unprecedented pace…. Half-hearted initiatives that do not consistently translate into tangible corporate action are quickly condemned as greenwashing.” **

CO2e: A Call to Action.

CO2e

Up to 60% of a building’s emissions over its lifetime are locked in at the design and build stages, which provides a narrow window to have a big impact.

Integrating sustainability expertise at the design stage of a new build or retrofit project is the most important impact you can have on reducing the carbon footprint of a building.

Sustainability education helps companies to tap into the movement for greater corporate social responsibility and provide employees a more meaningful work experience.

Education is the most effective strategy for scaling sustainability efforts and achieving transformative outcomes.

What We Do:

Co2e - Building Decarbonization

Building Decarbonization

CO2e provides low carbon design expertise and data-driven analysis to reduce embodied and operating emissions on new builds or retrofit projects. We work with commercial building owners and tenants who want to reduce their carbon footprint but have limited sustainability expertise in-house. Our objective, data-driven approach enables clients to make informed trade-off decisions that are right for them.

Sustainability Education

CO2e delivers in-person, customized classroom sessions to corporate teams that explain sustainability topics in an engaging way. We work with companies who are looking to make a meaningful difference by promoting sustainability. Education demonstrates a commitment to walking the talk and mitigates any greenwashing criticism of half-hearted sustainability efforts. We have found that employees who understand the company’s sustainability initiatives are more engaged, productive and report a more meaningful work experience and higher overall job satisfaction.
